Sid and Jim are a London based collaboration working in a variety of mediums including but not exclusive to performance, installation, and moving image. Issues of value, presence and authorship, within and exterior to the art world, form the subject of their work. This includes how art and artists are perceived within popular culture. They explore these themes using tools and technologies, which are relatable but not restricted to art. 

 

The digital residencies provide an online space for artists to develop works, ideas and practices. Digital Artist Residency is an online platform which provides space for digital artists to create and display new artwork. The initiative aims to provide support for artwork created using digital processes, exploring the boundaries of art and technology. 

 

During the residency Sid & Jim will be embedding a twitter account, owned by a Millicent Place, into the Digital Artist Residency website. Art galleries are huge, interconnected, interdependent webs made up by all number of individuals, within which the lowest ranking would fall to the invigilators or if these are not present then the receptionist. The receptionist of a fictional gallery is constantly bored and consequently Tweets all day long; assembling her life, 140 characters at a time.
