Mediating between a different medium of expression, Fabrizio Panella's research verges on notions of experience, environments, fetishism, simulacra and irony. His work aims at critiquing and deconstructing contemporary Neoliberal aesthetics through a digital manipulation of an image or photograph mostly depicting an inanimate natural subject matter.
During his Digital Artist Residency, his research will focus on the tension between the organic and inorganic. Harking back at Walter Benjamin notion of erstarrte Natur (petrified nature), and Adorno and Lukács definition of first and second nature, he will further his interest and research through the development of digital nature morte.
Through digital images and 3D models still lives, he will digitally replicates 'offline' natural realms, composing fictional scenarios and environments to developed a series of
digital 3D models still lives.
