Suzannah Pettigrew’s practice communicates the frisson and friction between reality and fiction. Exploring our autonomous utopias and transgressive exchanges, emulating the experienced eroticism and aspirational validation. Her work simultaneously manipulates our encounters with screens in spaces and the spaces within screens. Imbued with a sense of relentless anticipation that something else will arrive.
The constant sound of the spraying bottle *pssssttttt* *psssssssstttttt* my body is sensitive thing. You can taste the fear on my soft skin. Everywhere I go you find me, I hide and suffocate myself under sheets and yet there you are. Why must you constantly come for me. Silent creepy creep creeping steadily following my every move. Creating constellations behind my back, making my body swell and change for everyone to see. I burn magic sticks like they are sage to warn you off.

What is the point of your existence anyway if I could I would eradicate you. Would it disrupt our worldly balance or perhaps no one would notice you were gone. I would notice I’d bask in the shadow of the memory of your presence. I would dance in it, hand clapping the fuck out of you.

I drank twelve drinks, watched Grace Jones and Young Thug. The next day I purged, I burst blood vessels in my eye and my neck. I'm a thirty year old woman reverting. I watched them whir round and round.
You all sound the same.
The same again and again and again.
